Guy Kawasaki: How to Self Publish

The estimated reading time for this post is 1 seconds

I interviewed Guy Kawasaki on his new book, Ape.  I was thrilled that we were aligned in our attitudes to social media, that it is important to publish relevant & interesting material.  He is a great guy & has contributed to the ecosystem profoundly.

This is the brief background behind the new book but I recommend that you watch the video below to get some great tips from Guy direct.  After the launch of Enchantment, the publisher could not fill an order for 500 ebook copies of the book. Because of this experience, Guy self-published his next book, What the Plus!, and learned first-hand that self-publishing is a complex, confusing, and idiosyncratic process. As Steve Jobs said, “There must be a better way.”
With Shawn Welch, a tech wizard, he wrote APE: Author, Publisher, Entrepreneur–How to Publish a Book to help people take control of their writing careers. APE’s thesis is powerful yet simple: filling the roles of Author, Publisher and Entrepreneur yields results that rival traditional publishing. We call this “artisanal publishing”–that is, when writers who love their craft control the publishing process and produce high-quality books. Title: APE: Author, Publisher, Entrepreneur–How to Publish a Book (ISBN 978-0-9885231-1-1) Cost: $9.99 ebook, available at Amazon
